Grandmaster D Gukesh has won the World Chess Championship in Singapore on 12 December. D Gukesh won the title by taking advantage of a wrong move by his opponent Ding Liren in the 14th game. D Gukesh was born on 7 May 2006 in Chennai. His full name is Dommaraju Gukesh. Gukesh’s father is a doctor and mother is a microbiologist. Bhaskar Nagaiya has been an international chess player. He laid the foundation of D Gukesh’s journey to become a chess king. D Gukesh Becomes World Champion In Chess

Indian Grandmaster D Gukesh has won the World Chess Championship held in Singapore on 12 December. In the 14th and decisive match, China’s Ding Liren was playing with white pieces and D Gukesh with black pieces. The match was heading towards a tiebreaker when Liren made a big mistake during the 53rd move. Which pushed him into the mouth of defeat. Gukesh, who always remains alert and plays with a calm mind, took advantage of this one mistake and turned the whole game around. Liren failed to make a comeback. After which D Gukesh became the 18th World Chess Champion and is the second Indian player to do so.

18-year-old Gukesh Dommaraju has created history by becoming the youngest World Chess Champion. He defeated China’s Ding Liren in a 14-game match held in Singapore. Along with this, the result of 9 matches was equal and the matches were drawn. Finally, Liren scored 6.5 and D Gukesh scored 7.8.
